150th Anniversary of the first Ascent of the Matterhorn

With 4,478 meters above sea-level, Matterhorn is one of the highest mountains of the Alps. It has always been a dream of mountaineers to climb this prominent peak.

2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the dramatic first ascent. On this occasion, Swiss mountain sports outfitters Mammut presents Zermatt with an unforgettable vision: by installing 60 light sources along Hörnligrat, they will illuminate the route up to Matterhorn peak for one evening.

A 20-man group of professional athletes, mountain guides and experienced Mammut employees will provide a view of Matterhorn as never seen before!
