Alta Via Stage Race 2016, registration opens

The registration for the two Alta Via Stage Race’s special formats, Week End and One Day are open.

These two formats condense the Alta Via Stage Race’s adventure into a shorter version, for solos or couples, allowing everyone to enjoy the special taste of the event and – who knows – even to decide to participate in the full-race format next year.

The Week End and One Day formats, thanks to lower mileage and costs, meet the needs of those who for fitness level or time availability cannot take part to the full-race format. Still offering them the opportunity to fully experience the spirit of this unique event.

The Week End is a proper racing format with rankings and camping overnight. It is available within two time frames: 18th – 20th June (Stages 1-2-3) or 23rd – 25th June (Stages 6-7-8). The One Day format, instead, is only recreational and non-competitive. The overnight is in private accommodation and it can be done during any one of the eight stages, by choice.

You don’t need to be a professional to understand that the full-race format, 800 km long and with 19000 m of elevation changes, requires serious physical commitment and proper fitness levels.
This does not mean that any other mountain-biking enthusiast should be deprived of the opportunity to be part of this great adventure along the Ligurian mountains. The Week End and One Day shorter formats are offered for this reason.
The organisers of AVSR LiguriAVventura want to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy the incredible trails and breathtaking views of their place, as much as the hospitality and culinary delights that make this region so special. Most of all, they want to offer anyone the chance of enjoying the great sense of satisfaction and fulfillment by overcoming their personal limits on a bike.

It is possible to participate in the Week End race format between the 23rd and 25th June, during the last three stages, perhaps the most evocative days from the panorama’s perspective, when the Apennines blend with the Ligurian Alps. But the first Week End, 18th – 20th June, is not far behind, thanks to the emotions of the event’s start line and the new time-trial stage through the streets of the ancient village of Bolano, along a racecourse designed by Bruno Zanchi.

We would like to remind you that the two non-competitive formats, One Day and Fun (available during the whole race’s duration), are open to the E-Mtb participation, providing charging areas at the main refreshment stops along the racecourse.

Emotions will run high at the 2016 edition of Alta Via Stage Race: join us with the Week End and One Day formats!
