Anton Thelander signs with rasoulution

This year could not have started better for the 18 year old Anton Thelander: As of now, the young freeride talent is managed by rasoulution. Thelander has been well received by his rasoulution team colleagues Martin Soderstrom (SWE), Andreu Lacondeguy (ESP) and Thomas Genon (BEL) as well as the trial superstar Danny MacAskill (GBR) who are also under contract with the Munich sports marketing agency.

Anton Thelander’s career boost is not surprising if you know about his mentor: none other than the FMB World Tour 2012 overall runner-up Martin Soderstrom. Inspired by his local buddy, (both are from the Swedish city of Uppsala) Thelander’s individual style has caught the eye of followers in a similar way as Soderstrom’s – varied and precise. So it is not surprising that in 2011, the open-minded rookie was voted by the Facebook community to start as a forerunner at Red Bull District Ride 2011. Thelander also impressed the organizers of Red Bull Berge Line 2012, as they awarded him with a wildcard entry.

But that was just the beginning! Last year, Thelander stepped it up big time. For example, he earned an excellent second place at Freestyle.ch (SUI) and AT Showdown (USA) – even finishing ahead of his mentor, Martin Soderstrom. During the Nine Knights event Thelander impressed the professionals and judging panel alike, with his exceptional performance he achieved the title of “Ruler of the week”. In the FMB World Tour 2012 overall ranking he ended up with an excellent 23rd place. From this moment on, it became obvious that the young Swede has a promising 2013 season ahead – with podium ambitions.

Of course, such a young and aspiring talent did not go unnoticed by rasoulution founder and industry insider Tarek Rasouli. “We’ve had Anton Thelander in mind for more than a year. In 2011, he attracted our attention as a forerunner of Red Bull District Ride in Nuremberg. In the end, we were convinced by his performance last year. In addition, Martin Soderstrom spoke very positively about him. Anton has the greatest potential and we are happy to be a part of and support his promising riding career,” says Rasouli about his decision to contract with Thelander.

Anton Thelander is also sure, that the decision to sign with rasoulution was the right step for him: “Nothing better could have happened to me than riding under the same management as Martin. With rasoulution, I have a professional partner by my side, who will certainly help me open some doors in the future. I am really looking forward to working with my new team and I am excited about the 2013 season.”

Anton Thelander will have his debut performance as a rasoulution team rider on February 1st 2013 at the White Style in Leogang (AUT). rasoulution wishes him a very successful and safe season!
