Be a freestyle hero with Mottolino
The wait is over, finally the news around Suzuki Nine Knights are confirmed. The most colossal snow structure ever has introduced for 2015 two important changes that will enliven the epic freestyle event, already winner of many awards.
The format has always been constant since 2008: a media event dedicated to freeski, on a proper snow castle on which 9 knights challenged themselves shooting their best tricks. Over past 3 years the ski area Mottolino, always receptive to freestyle scent, has been hosting the duel with a structure become as huge as a real fortress: 120,000 cbm of snow, part of which preserved year to year, featuring 50 mt jumps.
Rumours about the event opening to snowboard were in the air already, and it is with pleasure that Nico Zacek’s team now confirms it: from this year also snowboarders shall fly on the magical snow castle! A few names? The X-Games podiums Halldor Helgason (ISL) and Ståle Sandbech (NOR), as well as incredible freeskiers such as Jesper Tjäder (SWE) and Gus Kenworthy (USA). But there is much more, because the coming edition won’t be just on invitation: Mottolino opens the selections to 40 athletes who will access the qualifications by sending their sport curriculum.
Applying is really easy: go on http://bit.ly/Nine_Knights_application, download and fill the registration form with your best sport results and most impressive tricks, then send it to info@mottolino.com. 20 freeskiers and 20 snowboarders (male) will be selected to do their best on Saturday the 28th of March on Mottolino snowpark XL line. For each discipline there will be special awards: a wild card invitation for all the event long and 2 places for 2015 Suzuki Nine Knights final contest!
