As part of a year long creative brief, Huck Magazine have challenged five different photographers to capture the struggle, the triumph and bitter, bitter cold of the O’Neill Cold Water Classic series. What is O’Neill CWC? The most northern, the most southern, the wildest, the coldest and the most classic surf contest on the planet.

To start off this special project, they sent Spencer Murphy to the far reaches of Australia document the O’Neill Cold Water Classic Tasmania.

Spencer returned with a set of photos that captured the eclectic mix of adventure and remote isolation perfectly so they have made this special digital magazine to show off the ones that didn’t make it into the magazine. Check it out here.
