Go Big or Go Home 2011
In less than a month bike fans can examine the latest trends at the BIKE EXPO (July 21st – 24th). But “BIKE-EXPO time” means “Go Big or Go Home time” as well. The topclass dirt jump event is one of the highlights at the BIKE EXPO.
The rider’s line-up for this year is confirmed now and the visitors really get to see some dirt jump VIP’s on the area of Munich’s exhibition. But also the less established offspring gets a chance in Munich: the young and upcoming riders have the opportunity to call the attention of the audience in the pre-qualifications, and to qualify for the finals.
But only the Top 10 pre-qualifiers will ride with the pros. In the final runs, they can compete with dirt jump stars like Sam Reynolds, Grant Fielder (both GBR), the polish newcomer Szymon Godziek, the french Red Bull District Ride wildcard winner Mehdi Gani (FRA) or Munich’s local Benny Korthaus (GER). The best riders will share 10,000 Euro of overall prize money.
Another highlight of the Go Big or Go Home certainly will be the Best Trick presented by Rollei (Saturday, July 23rd, 07.00 pm).
For winning this contest the athletes will have to pull out some fancy tricks and show, what kind of crazy moves they can do on their bikes.
For most of the dirt jump youngsters, presenting themselves in front of the BIKE EXPO’s spectators is incentive enough, showing off their style and their unique tricks. But the 10,000 Euro of cash, the riders are competing for, will additionally boost their motivation. After the free training day on Thursday, the dirt jump offspring already has to demonstrate that it can compete with the pros in the pre-qualifying runs on Friday (July, 22nd 03.00 – 05.00 pm, entrance only for trade visitors)
On Saturday it is getting serious and the pre-qualifiers battle together with the set riders for the final starting places. (qualifying: Saturday July 23rd 03.00 – 05.00 pm).
In the evening the bike-artists can really run riot at the Best Trick presented by Rollei (Saturday July 23rd, 07.00 pm). 1,000 Euro are waiting for the winner of this spectacular contest.
Sunday will be the heyday of the Go Big or Go Home: The finals, that start 02.30 pm, followed by the prize ceremony around 04.00 pm.
There will be no bad weather issues for this year’s Go Big or Go Home, because the event takes place in the newly established Action-Hall, where additionally about 60 exhibitors are situated. In every case, the course will be in top condition for the riders. Therefore the rider’s safety will be guaranteed, and we will see no drenched fans beside the course.
From a sporty point of view, the FMB World Tour riders can collect a lot of important points, since the Go Big or Go Home is a silver event of the FMB World Tour. For that the BIKE EXPO’s audience is assured to see lots of cool tricks and crazy bike-action, because the top riders aim to pick up as much World Tour points as possible due to the limited amount of events.

The BIKE EXPO’s framework program, a great rider’s line-up and big exhibitor’s names will again turn the BIKE EXPO into the epicenter of the bike world between July 21st – 24th.
