Go Big or Go Home, Jakub Vencl qualified for Big in Bavaria.
Almost 60 riders from 13 countries joined the GO BIG OR GO HOME contest at the BIKE EXPO tradeshow in Munich. The open pre qualifying event promised ten set rider places at the BIG IN BAVARIA Vol.II dirt jump competition.
The TOP6 riders of the GO BIG OR GO HOME were Jakub Vencl (1st/CZE), Thomas Genon (2nd/BEL), Simon Kirchmann (3rd/GER), Bartek Obukowicz (4th/POL), Daniel Madzia (5th/AUT) and Mehdi Gani (6th/FRA).
The GO BIG OR GO HOME line featured three doubles with wooden take offs and dirt landings – the biggest one had a seven meter gap. Some rookies seemed not to be used to bigger sized jumps like that, but they still shot their best tricks into Munich’s sky: The winner Jakub Vencl rocked the line with backflip table tops, 360 no handers and sick combos like a barspin to cancan.
Thomas Genon shot back with a tuck no hander to x-up, 360-barspins to x-up, superseaters and tailwhips to become second. Simon Kirchman landed on third position with very clean and high tailwhips, no foot can cans and superseaters. Other highlights were Daniel Madzia’s inverted 360s and huge flips, Mehdi Gani backflip no handers and 360 whips, Andi Brewi’s backflip x-up, Ryn Nagle’s barrel roll (12th/GBR) or Teo Gustavson’s almost pinned double tailwhips (23rd/SWE).
Due to an knee injury of the invited Andi Wittmann, the 11th place of the GO BIG OR GO HOME was also qualified for the BIG IN BAVARIA Vol.II:
