Innovations at the Bikepark Leogang

Only a few days longer and the Bikepark Leogang finally opens its gates. From May 20th – 22nd the biking season will be duly rung in with numerous offers and specials. For example: 30% off your lift passes for the entire weekend, the bike shop Sport Mitterer offers a bike exhibition and bike tests and Kona will be present with their latest bike models. In the bike park itself a lot has been done as well – the tracks have been remodelled, BikeMovie lets you digitally capture your fourcross abilities and thanks to the new Big Bag Jump you can try the biggest tricks without having to worry about injuries. A special highlight – for a change without a bike – is definitely also the Flying Fox XXL.

The Bikepark Leogang attaches particular importance to continuously improving and expanding the tracks. Of course, this year is no exception and especially in preparation of the Out of Bounds Festival (June 10th – 19th) several tracks have been overhauled. The Bongo Bongo Freeride Trail can boast a new section that ensures even more flowy freeride fun. As a tried and tested UCI World Cup Downhill track, the Speedster has never been suitable for the faint of heart. This is definitely not going to change with the addition of new sections and jumps. The dirt course is also being completely reworked and optimised this year so that the 26TRIX (June 16th – 18th) can guarantee even better bike action. The Hangman is being rebuilt from the top station to the middle station and the new section will make singletrail hearts beat faster after June 1st.

Instead of a foampit, which invited even beginners to try daring stunts without the danger of injury, there will be an upgrade this year. The Big Bag Jump is even safer and as of June, the air cushion will help pros give their technique the perfect finish while rookies can try their first backflip without having to worry about getting hurt.

If you want to see exactly where you need to improve, film yourself with BikeMovie on the fourcross track. Start the camera with your lift pass and the entire race will be filmed with a mobile camera. You can watch the clip right there at the course and it will be posted on Bikepark Leogang’s website (www.bikepark-leogang.com ). From there you can download it and share your best run online or analyze exactly where you still need to practise.

For the ultimate adrenaline rush even without a bike, try the Flying Fox XXL. If you dare, swoosh almost like superman with approx. 130 km/h into the valley and enjoy the breathtaking view at over 140 meters altitude. This is probably the most fun way to get a complete overview over the mountain scenery and the Bikepark while you glide along for 1.6 kilometres starting at the Stöcklalm. Goosebumps and lots of adrenaline is guaranteed!
