ION is set to enter the North American market by starting the 2015 bike season as proud sponsor of the Big Mountain Enduro Series.
In addition, the brand has teamed up with US based Big Mountain Sport Group and the Canadian company Campervan Brands to introduce ION bike products to the North American continent.
ION will be a presenting level sponsor of the Big Mountain Enduro Series, holding category exclusivity in protective/pads and apparel product lines. This year’s BME sponsoring covers all stops of the 2015 series, including the Enduro World Series event in Crested Butte, Colorado end of July.
„We consider enduro something that is like the essence of our sport. Enduro riding is unbiased. It is pure – and at the same time, it combines all aspects of mountain biking. Thus, enduro challenges the entire rider. We at ION love this approach and we see our partners on the same level: All of us – here and there – are passionate mountain bikers and together we believe in the potential of our networks and our love for the sport. Sponsoring the Big Mountain Enduro Series is a more than logical step for us“, said Thomas Latein, division manager of ION bike.
The support of the Big Mountain Enduro Series 2015 is also a kick-off of ION‘s preparations to enter the North American markets : While ION has teamed up with Big Mountain Sport Group to enter the United States, Campervan Brands will work on the Canadian market. Both partners have already started to arrange the set-ups for 2016 and will use the 2015 season to prepare an appropriate launch.
„We at BME are thrilled to partner with ION Bike for the first launch and major sponsorship of this unique Austrian brand
into the U.S.,“ said Brandon Ontiveros, executive director of Big Mountain Enduro. „Over the past 15 years, I have personally tested and tried many top brands, countless lines of apparel and protective gear, but none have stood out in terms of quality quite like ION. The attention to detail in their manufacturing, quality of fabrics, toughness and proven protection will be a huge hit with the BME following and participants, not to mention the overall US marketplace.“
“ampervan Brands is working with ION to assist in the roll out the brand in Canada. We see great potential for the Canadian market in both bike wear and protection and want to make sure that the brand is recognizable and transferable to the Canadi- an market. We want to take our time and understand how we can transfer the success ION has had in Europe and bring that same success to Canada,“ said Mark Lavigne, Campervan’s director of sales.
