Mottolino Freeride Contest
Like last year, Mottolino Fun Mountain wants to celebrate the end of the season with all the riders enjoying the Swatch Bikepark Livigno – especially the ones that are coming frequently to the Mottolino Fun Mountain. Most of last year’s competitors were from Italy, Switzerland and Germany. But the 2nd Mottolino Freeride Contest is also the perfect chance for everyone that was not able to make his way to Livigno in 2009 before, but wants to experience the bike park trails – including the famous DH World Championships trail from 2005. The whole competition is dedicated to the memory of Andreas Cusini, a young guy from Livigno that loved the bike park and had been riding it every week.
The 2nd Mottolino Freeride Contest is a contest for everybody, young and old, amateurs and advanced riders. It’s the fun that counts. There are three contest categories: women, children (until 14 years of age) and Elite (15 years and older). The ones, who are competing in all three competitions: “Easy Downhill”, “Jump Session” and “Best Trick”, are battling for prizes such as 2010 season tickets as well as special prizes from the Sport Adventure shop like protective gear or bike parts.
The Easy Downhill is held on a special part of the “Chemical Water” trail, which is quite easy to ride. Everybody can compete for fun, and the more ambitious ones can go really fast (track length: 1 kilometre, altitude difference: 200 meters, approximate racing time: 2 to 2.30 minutes).
In the Jump Session, riders hit the middle section of the “Easy Line” trail, which has jumps with tables only, so again, everybody can take the challenge.
The Best Trick competition promises a lot of airtime. The “Swatch Shoot My Ride” air cushion waits for your craziest tricks to be shown without any risk. Take a look on www.swatch.com/shootmyride, to get a first impression about the huge air cushion and what fun it can be to jump it.
