Snowpark Montafon
Some days ago the waiting came to an end: The Snowpark Montafon opened its doors for the season 2015/16 – despite initial difficulties of Mother Hulda. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Montafon and the Schneestern crew boxes and kickers from the Medium- and Kids Line can be shredded already. But who thinks that’s all is mistaken: You can look forward to a diverse and creative setup with more than 40 obstacles. New for this season is the Freeridecross – a track design, which guarantees heaps of fun for ambitious snowboarders and skiers.
The Snowpark Montafon stands for creativity and versatility and will impress all freestyle lovers this season again with its diverse setup. Situated at the Grasjoch, the park can easily be reached by the Freda lift and offers – thanks to its location – best conditions and sunshine all day long. Since this winter we have six snow cannons in the park – that’s why we could start the snowpark season that early.
This season the Schneestern shape crew will once again make sure that riders of all levels will find their ideal obstacles to spend an unforgettable day in the park.
All youngsters and freestyle beginners will find appropriate boxes and tabletops in the Easy Line. There they can safely learn first tricks and collect first freestyle experience. Like always, the Medium-/Jib Line will be the largest area of the park. Apart from rails, boxes and kickers for advanced riders, the park will once again offer popular obstacles like the Lollipop and the fence-wallride. The best amongst all snowboardes and freeskiers can look forward to the Pro Line, where proper air time is guaranteed and tricks for the upcoming contests can be practiced.
If you want to chill a little bit between your runs, check out the park base: Next to the park entrance you can find a chillout-area with relaxing sounds and deck chairs to take a break and discuss the latest tricks with the likeminded.
Holiday Session at the Snowpark Montafon
Last Saturday the first event took place at the Snowpark Montafon under the bright sun. Numerous motivated snowboarders and freeskiers gathered at the park to compete at a goodies for tricks session. The Schneestern crew built a small hip/quarter pipe with love by hand and with that setup they made sure, that – despite Mother Hulda’s laziness – all shredders had a huge lot of fun at the Holiday Session.
New for this season: The Freeride Cross
In order to extend the range of fun for all winter sports enthusiasts, the Silvretta Montafon will come up with an absolute highlight this season: the Freeride Cross. Located right next to the Snowpark Montafon the Freeride Cross offers a mixture between classic elements of a traditional skicross and backcountry-style natural obstacles, all coupled with a whole lot of flow. Snow wave tracks, banked curves, drops and jumps take every guest off the piste back to a real backcountry feeling. A setup, that leaves boring days in a distant memory.
So come on mother Hulda, what are you waiting for?
