The Atherton Project Season 3, episode 1
Series 3 of The Atherton Project begins with the family recalling an incredibly eventful 2010 – a year that saw Dan break his neck in a near-fatal crash, Rachel secure two world cup wins despite missing much of the season through injury and Gee win the world cup series in dramatic fashion at the last race of the season.
Rested and rehabilitated the whole family are back in the saddle and ready to take on the 2011 season.
We kick off the new series with Gee, Dan and Rachel putting in some winter training in Queenstown, New Zealand. Not only are there plenty of sick downhills to ride, but there’s scope for all kinds of mischief to get up to off the bike. This includes a trip to one of the world’s highest bungee jumps where the team test their nerve. Ultimately though, they’re in New Zealand to train, and the family share their personal goals for the season ahead.
Now in its third series, Red Bull’s reality TV series ‘The Atherton Project’ is a fly-on-the-wall show tracking the exploits of the most famous family in mountain bike history. Follow British riders Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton as they compete in events around the world in the 2011 season.
Series 3 of The Atherton Project begins on Red Bull TV on 2nd June. Check out The Atherton Project website for more information.
