the last day of the season
In my little experience the last winter shred day has always been like me and tons of riders enjoyin’ slushy snow and easy features, alchool&BBQ fueled of course.
This year was really different from the past, sweetly different. Empty slopes, few but good friends, a couple cloudy days and mid winter scenario: the context exaltes the bitter aftertaste of the winter ending.
The gondola become a remembrance corner, each chair-lift is a celebration of a certain moment of the past. You’re not really focused on what you’re doing so your riding isn’t exciting, but this is not so important now.
Laughs are easier to come, you feel lighter than usual and chilled, calm and satisfied: I’d need more than one last day of the season.
