Talk to me about the story of the band!
We’re around since the ‘90s but Gran Rivera born in 2012. Just released the first record “Aventador” this spring.

What did you do in the last six months?
We actually work in advertising & fashion & journalism. Music is a passion. We play some selected shows every month.

What have you got in your wallet now?
We won’t tell you. Bill Gates didn’t be rich this way.

Why have you chosen this name for your band?
It sounds perfect for us. You can find inside some vintage, some soccer, some cinema… It’s emotional.

How important is the look/appearance for your band?
Honestly, nothing.

Tell us about the new LP “Aventador”. Are you fully satisfied with it?
Totally. It’s recorded in the old way, all together. No post production at all. No editing. Nothing. It’s just like if you come to listen us live, but at home.

Which is the highest point of the LP?
Probably the opening “The dragon in the garage”, the first track. Do you agree?

How would you define your sound?
Blinking to the underground with a pop heart.

Rock. Describe for me this word!
A teenager learning smoke on the water and smoking his first cigarette.

Which bands have influenced your style?
Smashing Pumpkins, Beatles, Texas is the Reason… same old shit.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
We actually are happy. But our songs are mostly sad. Can you tell us why?

Tell me some of the bands you admire.
Manchester Orchestra, Brand New, Fine Before You Came.

What song is in your head right now?
“Come fare a non tornare” from Fine Before You Came (post rock italian band)

Name 3 words that describe your band.
Beautiful. Tall. Beard.

Which are the best and the worst qualities of your band?
We can do much better but we don’t. We’re late. Always.

And of your local music scene?
Rock scene in Italy simply doesn’t exist. It feels good to be stranger in your country.

What is the most embarrassing situation you’ve ever been with Gran Rivera?
Playing in front of 3 people is enough?

Have you got a good reason to be in Behind Magazine?
Definitely. We have one of the best album you’ll ever listen in 2014.
