The next big thing! Todio

What did you do in the last six months?
We have been waiting for our new record release but in the meantime we’ve never stopped our gigs. We are currently promoting Biomechanical Future Engine and the answer seems to be very good.

What do you’ve in your wallet now?
We have lots of experience, we have a Label who believes in us, we have new fans,
we have a band where all members are pursuing the same goal (maybe the most important factor).

How much important is the image (look) for your band? Why?
We think that the look is very important but it should not be so particular to distract people from what we do. Some artists point on strange looks or excesses on stage perhaps to fill the void of their songs. But this happens especially in pop music.

What’s your idea of perfect happyness?
Playing our music for people who really loves rock, less technical problems for all the musicians who decide to live with their music (SIAE permits…). To realize that someone in another part of the world knows one of our songs!

The perfect guest (artist) for the next album?
We would always involve one of our friends: it’s a pleasure and a sign of esteem. Maybe in the next album there will be another female voice with Barbara, who knows?

Who are some of the bands you admire?
We are inspired by crossover bands such as Faith No More or Black Sabbath (if we look further back), but our matrix is definitely heavy metal (Ronnie James Dio, Iron Maiden, Scorpions…).

3 words for describe your band?
Powerful, innovative, spontaneous.

What song is in your head right now?
The one we are going to compose! The best moments for us, are probably when we compose new songs.

What’s the most embarassing situation you’ve ever been with Todio?
A couple of times someone in the band has completely forgotten his part, or sometimes someone else is in a different key; this are things that, after the first moment of embarrassment make us laugh a lot.

What’s the most ridiculous rumor you’ve read about the band?
During the years the band has changed some elements, someone said that Todio no longer existed, quite ridiculous.

Do you’ve a good reason to be in Behind Magazine?
There is always a good reason to be in a good magazine, especially if you do not play commercial music. What we do is not suitable for national radios, our channels must be specialized and followed by specialized people.
